Biography

Shelley Walkerley is a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner (PHCNP).  She has been in practice as an advanced practice nurse since 1998.  She has taught in the Ontario Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program since 2001.  Shelley's Doctoral thesis explored the factors that hinder or facilitate the provision of smoking cessation interventions by RNs and NPs in primary care settings.  Other research interests advanced practice nursing education, animal assisted care and social farming.
